Kaya Natin To Kids Launching

And, we're back!

After two years of being missed in the airwaves, (has it been that long since the Presidential Proclamation 1017 - which cut us off air?) Kodao eagerly embarks on a new radio project. This time, we take up children's rights issues with Association for the Rights of Children in South East Asia (Arcsea, www.childrightssea.org), also in collaboration with Samahan ng Maralitang Kababaihang Nagkakaisa (Samakana), Samahan sa Maagang Pagkatuto ng Bata (SMPB), and DWIZ.

The new program is a challenge because the radio show is hosted by kids. Kodao Director Jola Diones-Mamangun, Radio Coordinator Raymund Villanueva, and Film and theater Director Bonifacio Ilagan conducted workshops for the kids prior to the screening for possible anchors. The availability of the kids for recording also posed some problems. But the one of a kind program pushed through. Madel Santiago of Arcsea was chosen the main host of the program, joined by a number of co-hosts for different episodes. Just two days before launching, the production team went to Tatalon, an urban poor community in Quezon City, to record the first ever episode with community interaction. Soon after, Raymund and Jola then got busy in the editing room to put the pioneer episode together. On July 12, 2008, Kodao Productions was heard once again on air.
