Salinlahi calls on PNoy to address deteriorating conditions of children

Two days before the commemoration of International Women's Day on March 8, different children rights advocates spearheaded by Salinlahi held a program in Plaza Miranda demanding for immediate relief from the onslaught of high prices, lack of social services, and human rights violations. The Salinlahi Children's Collective also showed the situation of children and their families from marginalized sectors through a street-play in the streets of Quiapo.

Gabriela leads rally in commemoration of Int'l Women's Day centenary

The nationwide and progressive women's alliance Gabriela led a big rally last March 8, 2011 to commemorate the centenary of the International Women's Day. Women's organizations and supporters assembled at the Welcome Rotunda and marched towards Mendiola. (Jaime Sanone de Guzman)

Gabriela denounce continued human rights violations under PNoy

Gabriela, the largest organization of Filipino women, trooped to Mendiola last October 28 denouncing the continued human rights violations perpetrated against activists and women under the new administration of President Benigno Aquino III. The rally commemorates the historic protest led by Filipino women on the same day in 1983 against the Marcos dictatorship. The series of militant actions led to the formation of Gabriela.
