Underground Urban Poor Group Rally vs Charter Change, Calls for Armed Revolution

Members of the Katipunan ng mga Samahan ng Anakpawis or KASAMA held a lightning rally on Litex Road in quezon City on the eve of the 38th anniversary of the National Democratic Front of the Phlippines (NDFP) last April 24.

The group denounced efforts by Malacañang Palace allies to amend the Philippine Constitution, saying it will pave the way for a complete sell-out of the country's patrimony to foreign dictates and interest. It also accused the Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo regime of planning to extend its term beyond 2010.

KASAMA called on the people to "smash the ruling system and install a democratic government truly representative of the people."
